Mentorship Program

What we do

This is a pro bono outreach program that mentors students applying to college.

Who are we looking for

We target first-generation students (students whose parents did not attend university) and students who have limited or no access to college counseling.

While we mainly seek students from the ASEAN region (Vietnam, Cambodia, Malaysia, etc, including Singapore), we also have some limited spaces for students outside ASEAN. You are strongly encourage to apply.

You should be applying for colleges in year 2015 or 2016.

Who we are

We are run by a diverse group of volunteers that consist of college students and graduates who have already been through the admissions process, as well a college counselor (no prize for guessing who) and a few ex-AOs. We will attempt to find you someone who works best with you.

Why we do what we do

With the rise of college counseling as an industry, and one with expensive fees to boot, we feel that students should not be unfairly disadvantaged in the college admissions process if they do not come from as privileged a background as other applicants. Moreover, the college admissions process is immensely complex and it can seem very bewildering and intimidating to those who do not have any guidance or information.

Hence, we decided to start this outreach program to level the playing field a little.

Join us!

We are currently looking for mentees to join our program. If you are a first generation student or have limited access to college counselling, and you are interesting in receiving guidance with regard to college admissions, please fill in the online form below:

While we will try to take in as many mentees as we possibly can, we are unable to guarantee that all who will apply will become part of the program.
